Ijaz Ahmed, MD, joined Arizona Chest & Sleep Medicine in July of 2022 as a Transitional Training Physician.  He is the first transitional training physician to join our group, receiving approximately 50 hours per week of medical education under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Raza, who is board-certified in internal medicine, critical care medicine, and pulmonary disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine. 

Ijaz completed his undergraduate education at Allam Iqbal Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan. He then obtained his master’s in clinical science, majoring in Pulmonary Rehabilitation from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He relocated to Florida where he practiced as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.  He has served as Director in several boards including Director of the Respiratory program at Malcom X College in Chicago Illinois, Director of Respiratory Care & Director of Allied Health at Skyline College in San Bruno California, and Director of the Respiratory Therapy Program at Monroe County Community College in Monroe Michigan. 

Ijaz brings several years of experience in the field of Respiratory Care.  In addition to his education, Ijaz authored several research papers and publications for the National Library of Medicine.
